What is a Playlist?

A playlist is a sequence or progression of learning activities that function as a single assignment for students. Playlists allow teachers to group multiple assignments into one streamlined experience for their students.

Without a Playlist, students see multiple tiles on their dashboard, which they can complete in any order. Each tile disappears as it’s finished.

With a Playlist, students see just one assignment on their dashboard, with individual tasks organized in the sequence set by their teacher. That single tile stays visible until all tasks in the Playlist are completed.

Playlists created by the teacher are available in every course, and their content has been selected and sequenced by the teacher. The teacher names the playlist and sets all its availability and due dates.

How will my students distinguish whether I’ve assigned a single activity or a playlist?

Playlists will appear as a double-wide tile on their Home screen. In the picture below, the tile on the left is a Playlist while the two tiles on the right are single activities.
