Each time a student reads a selection in the Read and Record activity within ClearFluency, the software automatically saves a recording of that reading. When the student completes the selection, mySciLEARN allows staff members to access the student’s latest recording of that selection, along with other performance details for the selection.
As an instructor, you can use the audio recordings to help your students. For example, listen to the recording to hear where a student struggled, then review that vocabulary with the student in conferencing or a small group.
A recording includes only the first 90 seconds of the reading.
mySciLEARN lets you manage and review your student's audio recordings as follows.
All Audio Recordings. Use this feature to access and manage a student’s most recent recordings. See Student Report – ClearFluency Audio Recordings & Portfolio.
Recording Portfolio. Use this feature to save copies of a student’s recordings for reviewing and archiving purposes. Unlike the recent recordings, the readings in the Recording Portfolio will not be overwritten if a student records a newer reading of the selection, or if the audio no longer exists on All Audio Recordings. See Student Report – ClearFluency Audio Recordings & Portfolio.
Performance Details. Use this feature to review details of a student’s recording, such as the actual recorded audio for the reading, the entire text of a reading, a word-by-word evaluation of the reading, and more. This feature also allows you to download a copy of the recording. See Student Report – ClearFluency Performance Details.
