If you are having trouble with how items are displayed in Passport, or with accessing certain resources or tools, you may need to clear your internet browser memory or cache. If there have been recent updates to the learning environment, there may be old data stored there. Clearing your web browser’s cache means removing stored data such as website cookies, cached images and files, and hosted app data. You do not have to clear your web browsing history or saved passwords. Below are steps to clear your browser cache for different Internet browsers.
If you are still having trouble after clearing your cache, please contact Customer Support https://www.carnegielearning.com/contact/#support.
Click on the 3 dots in the upper right hand corner of the Chrome browser to open the options menu. If you have not updated Chrome for some time, you may see a red dot or a yellow triangle. (The first thing you should do in that case is update Chrome on your device.)
Next click More Tools, then Clear Browsing Data. This will open the Settings tab in Chrome.
In the pop-up window, first click Advanced and select All time for the Time range.
Check the following items and click Clear data. Note: if you have never done this, it may take a few minutes.
You must exit/quit ALL browser windows and completely close or quit the browser.
Then re-open Chrome, log back into Passport, and see if the issues have been resolved.
Click Safari in the upper left-hand side of your screen. In the menu that appears, click Preferences.
In the pop-up, click the Privacy tab. Click Manage Website Data.
Another window will appear; it may take a few minutes to populate. Click Remove All on the bottom left.
Click Remove Now.
You will be returned to the window and it will be empty. Click Done.
In the Firefox menu bar, click the Firefox option.
Select the Preferences link.
Click the Privacy tab.
Under the History heading, click the clear your recent history link.
Select the Cache checkbox.
Click the Clear Now button.
In the Settings app, tap Safari, and you will see an option to Clear History and Website Data.
Tap Clear History and Data.
To fully clear your cache, click Advanced, then Website Data.
Scroll to the bottom of the list and click Remove All Website Data.
Open your Home screen.
Tap your web browser icon.
Tap the Menu button (it will look like 3 horizontal lines or dots next to the website address).
Tap the Settings option.
Your device will either take you to a menu of available settings OR it will have one of the three following options. Select the option you have:
Privacy & Security
Privacy
Security
Tap Clear Cache.
Tap OK to confirm.
Tap Clear All Cookie Data.
Tap OK to confirm.
Click the Home button to go back to your Home Screen.
Restart your device by turning it off and then on again.
Alternatively, after tapping Privacy, you may see a button that says Clear Browsing Data. Tap it, make sure cache and cookies, site data are checked — uncheck all the other boxes — and tap the Clear button at the bottom.
