Lenses on Literature Text Information Sheets

Every text in the Lenses on Literature curriculum has a Text Information Sheet.  This resource provides specific information to help the teacher plan for instruction.

The Text Information Sheet has four categories.  These are a summary of the text, the instructional rationale for including the text in the unit, a qualitative analysis of the text, which examines text complexity as well as difficulty and ease factors, and content considerations.

Text Information Sheets support effective instructional planning.  They provide background for the teacher about the rationale for the text’s inclusion in the unit, how it connects to the driving task and the factors, such as text complexity and difficulty and ease factors, to be considered as teachers think about their students’ strengths and challenges.   Many of the Text Information Sheets include scaffolding questions to support students as they read the text.

Text Information Sheets can be accessed in two places.
