Leveled texts are used only for select Knowledge Building Texts, which provide background information to support comprehension of the Anchor Text(s).
These versions are intended to support independent reading and knowledge building without lowering the cognitive demands of the unit’s Driving Task Prompt and Anchor Text(s).
When available, Lexile levels for leveled Knowledge Building Texts are listed on the Unit Text List. They are automatically accessed when they correspond to a student’s Level of Support.
