Setting and Updating Levels of Support

Setting the Student Profile

Once students have been rostered, but before creating any assignments, visit the Students page to select each student's initial Level of Support. This profile setting will be used to set the correct level of support automatically for each student when creating future assignments.

Note: Students’ levels of support are visible while creating an assignment, but should not be changed at that time.

Updating a Level of Support

Throughout the unit, gather informal data from discussions, daily tasks, and written responses to track how students are doing with their current support level. After completing the unit, use what you’ve learned to maintain, increase, or reduce Levels of Support so each student stays challenged and supported as they grow.

Level of Support adjustments should only be made between units. Make updates after students complete the previous unit’s assignments and before creating assignments for the new unit. If changes are made mid-unit, the student’s data will not carry forward from previous activities in the unit. To update a student’s Level of Support, go back to the Students profile view and adjust the default Level of Support for that student.
