Strategies to Meet Student Needs (Clear Learning Center)

At Carnegie Learning we believe all students are capable learners, and we understand that students enter class with varying degrees of experience and mathematical success. In order for students to be both challenged and successful, every day teachers use evidence of student readiness. Teachers recognize students’ strengths while ensuring that everyone has access to mathematical learning opportunities through a variety of access points. Below you will find ways your Carnegie Learning textbook and Clear Learning Center resources support individual student needs.

Meeting Student Needs with the Carnegie Learning Textbook

In the Front Matter of your textbook you will find pages titled “Supporting for All Students.” Within these pages, you will find how your textbook provides:

Throughout your Teacher’s Implementation Guide, strategies to support students at every level of learning are called out in the margin of every lesson and expanded upon in the Additional Facilitation notes that follow each lesson.

In addition to the resources in your textbook, Clear Learning Center offers Interactive Exit Tickets for each lesson. are auto-evaluated, technology-enhanced checkpoints of understanding available at the end of each lesson session to give teachers immediate feedback concerning their students’ understanding and progress. A session represents approximately 45 minutes of instruction. Exit ticket data from students provides teachers with insights for informed instructional decisions.

Meeting Student Needs with MATHia Software in clear learning center

MATHia works alongside MATHbook to ensure students have time to develop the concepts and skills of the course. The work students do in MATHia continuously supports their work in MATHbook, even when their software pace is ahead of or behind the aligned lessons.

MATHia is self-paced and teachers can support student learning by:

Meeting Student Needs with MATHstream in clear learning center

MATHstream lessons adapt to students in real time, motivating them to test new skills and outperform themselves, while teachers can easily track student progress. When students need additional time with the concepts in a less, assign the MATHstream Videos aligned to your MATHbook lesson to provide repeat instruction for students.

Topic Readiness Resources are MATHia workspaces and MATHstream Interactive Videos aligned to pre-requisite standards necessary for topic mastery. Topic Re-Engagement Resources are MATHstream Interactive Videos associated with the topic and are used to re-engage students with a concept or accelerate student learning. .
