The Students Page provides a single page to set preferences for language and Levels of Support that will carry across future assignments.
Within each subject, you can set students' defaults as listed below:
Math
Preferred Language: English or Spanish
Level of Support: N/A - Math teachers will only see the Preferred Language column.
ELA
Preferred Language: English or Spanish
Level of Support: Core, Light, Light-MLL, Moderate, Moderate-MLL, Intensive, Intensive-MLL
World Language
Preferred Language/Level of Support: N/A - World Language teachers will only see the list of student names, as there are no defaults to set currently.
Setting a default does not mean that option is available for every assignment. Assignments with the Select Version dropdown menu (as shown below) support language variations. If you do not see this dropdown menu, language variations are not available for the assignment.
ELA customers can click anywhere in the white space of an assignment tile to see the Levels of Support available for the assignment.
Having a student’s preferred language set allows you to assign multiple versions of the activity with one click allowing some students to receive the activity in English while others receive it in Spanish. Activities where Spanish is not available will be assigned in English regardless of preferred language settings.
For ELA activities with Levels of Support available, each student’s default settings will automatically be used if the activity you are assigning supports that option.
