Using Your Teacher’s Implementation Guide (3rd Edition) to Support Questioning in the Classroom

The overarching questioning strategies noted as "Questions to ask" are located throughout the facilitation notes of each lesson and promote analysis and higher-order thinking skills. Use these questions while facilitating the lesson to gather information, probe thinking, make the mathematical structures explicit, and encourage reflection and justification as students are working together or when they are sharing responses as a class. Above each "Questions to ask" heading is the correlation between the "Questions to ask" and the student textbook questions.
