Deactivate and Reuse Student eBook Codes

Carnegie Learning eBooks codes may be used with different students for each year access is purchased. That means the access codes need to be reallocated. Instructors will deactivate the access codes at the end of the school year or the beginning of the next school year. When you deactivate access codes, you must generate new codes.  

DEACTIVATE STUDENT EBOOK CODES

 

 

  1. Log in to the Carnegie Learning eBooks website at https://bookshelf.carnegielearning.com/ and click Admin on the bottom-right of the page. If you don't have that option, contact your District Administrator for eBooks or Customer Support.

  1. If you are a District or School Administrator, you will be managing multiple teachers. From the Admin page, click Manage Teachers.

  1. This will bring you to a page listing all the teachers in your district or school.

    1. Note: If you are a teacher with Admin access, click Manage Licenses and skip ahead to the Teacher License section.

  2. Determine which teacher’s licenses to view and on the right-hand side of the page, click Action, then click Teacher Licenses.

  1. This is the Teacher License page for the instructor you selected. This will display all of the Carnegie Learning eBooks licenses that have been allocated to that teacher. Determine which Carnegie Learning eBooks you would like to manage the codes for, select Action, then Manage.

  1. This is the Seat Management page, here you can see which students are assigned to this Carnegie Learning eBook. If you do not need to remove all the students, select Deactivate Student for the account you wish to remove. 

  2. Once the student/user has been removed, you should receive a green confirmation message at the top of the screen confirming the student and code have been deactivated.

  1. To remove all students from an Carnegie Learning eBook, begin by checking the Select All box underneath the drop-down menu.

  1. Once the check-box has been toggled, you will see that all students/codes have been selected. 

  2.  From the Select Action drop-down menu at the top-right of the screen, click the Deactivate Students from Selected Codes option and click Go.

  1.  You will see a list of confirmation messages in green confirming all of the codes that have been deactivated. Scroll down to view your Seat Management screen again. 

  2.  After deactivating codes, the table will display a “No data available in table” message. Select the Generate All Codes button to generate new codes for any that you’ve deactivated.
