As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining student privacy, Carnegie Learning recently added a session timeout to our Passport platform. Carnegie Learning recognizes that you care about how your information, and the information of your students is protected. For sites with sensitive information (such as student data), inactivity timeouts are an industry standard requirement that prevent access by unauthorized users.
The current Passport session timeout for teachers and students is set to 50 minutes. Any activity during that 50 minute window will reset the timer to 50 minutes. When teachers and students have reached 50 minutes of inactivity, they will receive a timeout warning:
After another 5 minutes of inactivity, teachers and students will be automatically logged out if they do not click “Keep me signed in!” on the You still there? window.
