Only District Administrators with Admin Accounts can integrate Carnegie Learning with Canvas through Edlink. Administrators should contact Carnegie Learning Support for assistance with this integration.
Creating a Developer Key ID and Developer Key Secret
- The first step in the integration is to create a Developer Key ID and Developer Key Secret in Canvas. To begin, log in to your Canvas Administrator account.
- Navigate to the Admin tab in the left hand of the screen. Select the school you are integrating, or select All Accounts if this is a district-wide integration.
- Locate the Developer Keys link in the account sidebar and click the blue + Developer Key button to the right. Choose API key from the dropdown.
- Fill in the form fields as shown in the image (Owner Email field should read support@ed.link) and click Save
- You will be redirected to the Developer Keys page, there will be a new developer key titled Edlink, toggle the state to On.
- Under the Details column is the Key ID and a button called Show Key, clicking this will reveal the Key Secret.
Edlink Integration
- Connect with Carnegie Learning through email, phone, or the Let’s Talk form in the Help Center. You will be provided with a link to create an Edlink account and complete the integration.
- Follow this link, you will be brought to an overview page with information on data sources and integration features. Select Continue With Integration.
- You will be prompted to create an account or sign in to an existing Edlink account.
- Once signed in, you can connect a source and select Canvas from the dropdown menu. Enter your institution’s Canvas domain as well as the Developer Key ID and Developer Key Secret created in Canvas. Log in to your administrator account and approve the integration. Next, select Connect Source.
Review the integration permissions on the following page and then select Continue to finish the integration.
After it’s complete, you can view information about integration on your Edlink Dashboard.
