Set Resource to Practice WL

There may be a resource that you wish to open up to students as practice only. This means that the students would be able to access all of the interactive activities in that resource (e.g., the Student Edition, the Workbook) and use the text fields, multiple choice buttons, or dropdowns as a way to record their responses. Student will not be able to submit their responses for a grade or automated feedback unless the activity is assigned.

An example of when you might do this is: Your classroom does not have a class set of textbooks, but each student has a device to access their resources. You want students to be able to open a digital activity in the Student Edition, but you do not want to assign it for a grade until they have had a chance to practice the targeted skill. Students will record their answers and share their thoughts with a partner before you review the activity as a class.

  1. Students can now open the eBook and access any of the interactive activities.

  2. Repeat the process for all classes you wish to set the resource to practice for.

  3. To remove the resource as practice, simply follow the same steps and uncheck the box.

  4. Note: Assigning a specific activity to a student with a resource shared will allow it to show up in the student's list of assignments and submit the activity to you according to the parameters that you set.
