Edit or Delete Assignments WL

Once activities have been assigned to students, you may want to edit the dates or max attempts for some of those assignments, or delete an assignment entirely. You can edit or delete an assignment for an entire class, or for individual students.

EDIT ASSIGNMENT FOR CLASS

  1. You can access student assignments by navigating to the Class Dashboard for that class. Click on the Assignments tab. This will pull up the list of all assignments for that class.

  1. Assignment status is color-coded for easy viewing of what is going on with a specific assignment.

  2. You have several filters to narrow down the assignments you view on this screen.

  3. You have a Due Date filter which allows you to select a date range, or select from Quick Options, such as Overdue. You can also Reset this filter.

  1. You can filter by assignment Status

  1. You can filter by assignment Type.

  1. To edit the assignment, click the pencil icon to the right. You can edit the Start Date/Time, Due Date/Time, or Max Attempts. Make the changes and click the blue Next button. Note that Max Attempts only applies to eBook activities.

  1. Click Confirm.

  1. This changes the assignment for all students.

  3. You can edit the Max Attempts separately for eBook activities. Click the pencil icon  to change the number, then click the Save icon. The attempts will be updated. Note: Attempts only applies to and appears for eBook activities.

  1. You can Reset Assignment Status for submitted or evaluated assignments. This resets the assignment to Assigned status and deletes the current score, but does not give the student additional attempts for eBook activities or change the due date. See related articles for details.

  1. You will receive a message that the assignment is updated .

  2. You can only reset an eBook assignment if the student has not yet reached their Max attempts.

  3. This will not erase any feedback that you have entered and students can access that feedback when they view their assignment page.

  4.  This will not delete eBook activity submissions for previous attempts so you do not lose the record of the student’s attempts. New submissions will be added to the previous in the log of attempts.

  5.  For all other activity types, once an assignment is re-submitted it will override the previous submission.
