This report provides access to the recordings students create in ClearFluency, along with additional performance details for each completed selection.
Instructors can use this information to identify areas where students may need additional support, such as reading with intonation or decoding specific spelling patterns.
Effective January 1, 2026, Carnegie Learning will remove all student audio files that are one year old or older. Going forward, we will perform this maintenance annually during the summer. To preserve recordings for future reference, we encourage you to download them from the Performance Details page(see below). If a recording is no longer available, you can still access performance results in the ClearFluency Implementation and Comprehension reports.
From the Group Implementation report for ClearFluency, scroll down to the Averages by Student table and click the microphone icon next to a student's name.

From the Student Implementation report for ClearFluency, click Audio Recordings in the top right corner.

Access a student's 20 most recent recordings in a table and save specific ones to the Recording Portfolio.

Add to Portfolio. Use the Add to Portfolio icon to save important or notable recordings to the student’s portfolio. This keeps the recording available even if the student reads the same selection again.
When saving a recording, choose a unique, meaningful name so you can easily identify and save multiple readings of the same selection.
ClearFluency automatically saves the latest recording from the first two selections to the student’s portfolio. These recordings are labeled Beginning Benchmark 1 and Beginning Benchmark 2 to help you identify the student’s initial recordings in ClearFluency.
Reading Selection Title. Click a reading selection title to access the recording (available once the student has done Step 2: Read and Record) or the recording plus Performance Details page(see below) (available after all steps are completed).
Use the Recording Portfolio page to access a student’s saved recordings. The portfolio can store up to five recordings, which won’t be overwritten when the student records a newer reading or removed when the audio is no longer available in All Audio Recordings. You can save multiple recordings of the same selection, making it easy to compare a student’s progress over time.

Reading Selection Title. This column includes either the selection title from which the reading was recorded, or a custom name entered when saving the recording to the portfolio. Click a selection title to open the Performance Details (see below) for completed readings.
Beginning Benchmark 1 and 2. ClearFluency automatically adds the latest recording from the first two selections to the student’s portfolio. The component adds “Beginning Benchmark 1” and “Beginning Benchmark 2” to the recording titles so you can identify them.
Delete from Portfolio/Remove All. Use the delete icon next to the reading selection title to delete that recording from the portfolio. Use the Remove All button to delete all portfolio recordings. Note that removing a recording from a student’s portfolio permanently deletes the portfolio copy from the system. If you still want access to a recording, download it before removing it from the portfolio.
Please note: All recordings that are one year old or older, will be removed each summer as part of our annual maintenance. This includes benchmark recordings and others saved to the recording portfolio. Please download any recordings you wish to save.
