Performance assignments are also video responses, but those are shared only with the teacher. Teachers set the directions for the activity, the amount of time students have to prepare and record their response, as well as how many attempts they get for each. Teachers may give written and/or video feedback to the students. All Performance assignments are teacher-graded.
Performance assignments function differently on mobile devices. Instead of recording in the activity window, you will record a video on your device and then upload it to the assignment.
Log in to Passport and locate the assignment you wish to complete.
Click the assignment tile once to see more details, then click the i button for more information about the activity instructions and parameters.
Close the window and click the tile again to open the assignment.
On mobile phones, this works best in landscape mode. Click Next to begin the activity.
Scroll to see the prompt and the associated image or video. You will be given the allotted time to think about and begin preparing your response. The blue bar will grow darker as the time counts down.
When time has expired, you will see a message indicating if you have more views (prep time) remaining. You can click the arrow to view the prompt again, or click Next. When you have no remaining views, your only option will be to click Next.
After clicking Next, scroll to the top of the screen to choose a video or record a video to your camera roll. There will be no countdown timer. DO NOT click Next in Step 4 until you have scrolled up and recorded or chosen a video to submit!
Now you can click Next in Step 4 to proceed.
If you have additional tries, you can click the arrow to scroll up and record again or choose a different file. Once you have no more tries, your only option will be to click Next.
You will have the option to assess My Performance on a scale of 1-10 and leave Comments for My Teacher if desired. Click Submit to turn in the assignment.
12. To view completed assignments, check the Submitted tab for items that are waiting for your teacher to score them, and Evaluated for items that have a score and feedback if entered.
