Monitoring Student Progress with MATHbook in Clear Learning Center

ReadyCheck Assessments

• Gauge student readiness of concepts and skills that are prerequisites for any upcoming content.   ReadyCheck Assessments are are available as printable or interactive assessments in Clear Learning Center (CLC).

Getting Ready/Review

• Getting Ready/Review can be found at the beginning of each module so you can collect and interpret data about student readiness at the module level.

Review

• This review can be found at the beginning of each lesson to set the stage for learning.

Questions to Support Discourse

• These questions are located throughout your TIG.  Use these questions as you facilitate lessons to assess students’ sense-making and reasoning, to gauge what they know, and to generate evidence of student learning.

Talk the Talk

• Talk the Talk can be found at the end of each lesson so students can assess and monitor their own understanding, and you can interpret how well they have demonstrated the learning outcomes and prepare for what’s next.

Interactive Exit Tickets

• Interactive Exit Tickets are auto-evaluated, technology-enhanced checkpoints of understanding available in CLC at the end of each lesson session to give teachers immediate feedback concerning their students’ understanding and progress. A session represents approximately 45 minutes of instruction. 

Assignment:  Practice Section

• Assignments, available in MATHbook and in CLC, can be found at the end of each lesson so students can reflect on and practice the new concepts of the lesson

Mixed Practice:  Spaced Review

• Spaced Review, available in MATHbook and in CLC, can be found at the end of each topic to provide practice of concepts from previous topics and the fluency skills important for the course.

Mixed Practice: End-of-Topic Review

• End-of-Topic Reviews, available in MATHbook and in CLC, are found at the end of each topic to provide review practice of the concepts for  the current topic.

Pre-Test and Post-Test

• Located in CLC, as printable or interactive assessments, use these parallel assessments when you want to measure growth over the topic.

End of Topic Test

• Located in CLC, as printable or interactive assessments, End of Topic Test Forms include short-answer and open-ended questions.

Standardized Test Practice

• Located in CLC, as printable or interactive assessments, Standardized Test Practice provides multiple choice and multiple select questions to help students prepare for standardized tests.

Performance Task with Rubric

• Located in CLC, as printable or interactive assessments, Performance Tasks include an open-ended task and a rubric that give students an opportunity to creatively demonstrate what they learned.
