ClearTalk

Students practice speaking with an AI-powered conversation partner that simulates live conversations. ClearTalk's speech recognition technology provides immediate feedback to allow students to improve their responses, and teachers can easily access recordings and transcripts to track students’ progress.

1. You can quickly locate ClearTalk activities in the Destinations Library Connection tab of your Course Navigator. You can also find them throughout the unit, organized by lesson, which reflects how they appear in the text.

2. There is also a collection of ClearTalk activities located in the Communicative Resources and Activities section of the Destinations Library (if purchased by your school or district). You will notice that these activities are organized by level and unit topic.

3. Use the Preview button to see what your students will see and to interact with the ClearTalk. Once you have found a ClearTalk you would like your students to do, use the Assign button to assign the ClearTalk to your class or selected student(s).

4. Students will record their responses to their AI chat partner’s prompts.

5. At the end of the conversation, students will be able to see feedback on the conversation which includes highlights of key phrases and suggestions for possible responses.

6. Teachers can listen to and view students’ responses to the ClearTalk activity by clicking on the activity name in the Assignments tab.

7. Click on the score next to the student’s name to review the submitted task.

8. You will be able to read a transcript of the conversation and play the audio for each of the student’s responses. You can also adjust the points awarded for that response.
